SUMMARY:2011 Durham Day at the Capitol
DESCRIPTION:The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2011 Durham Day at the Capitol on Wednesday\, April 20\, 2011 in our neighboring city of Raleigh\, North Carolina. \n\n \n\n	The Durham Day at the Capitol is a semi-annual program\, exclusively designed for local business representatives and elected leadership to hear from one another about important issues and concerns affecting the Durham community\, as well as the Triangle Region and the State of North Carolina. Regardless of the company or industry that you represent\, this day offers an opportunity for the entire Durham business community to be heard by state-level decision makers. We are pleased to have the opportunity to hear from some of North Carolina's top elected leadership during our time at the State Legislature. Invited guests include: Governor Beverly Eaves Perdue\, Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger\, Senate Minority Leader Martin L. Nesbitt\, Jr.\, Speaker of the N.C. House Thom Tillis along with House Minority Leader Joe Hackney. We've also invited members of the Durham Delegation to join us\, including Senator Bob Atwater\, Senator Floyd B. McKissick\, Jr.\, Representative Larry D. Hall\, Representative Paul Luebke\, Representative Mickey Michaux and Representative W.A. (Winkie) Wilkins.\n\n \n\n	In addition to this elite group of public servants\, we have also extended invitations to Secretary of the Department of Transportation Gene Conti\, the Secretary of the Department of Commerce Keith Crisco and former N.C. Congressman Bob Etheridge who is our State's new stimulus czar.\n\n	The goal for the day is to provide attendees with a snapshot of where the State is and where we may be heading based on the current economic climate trending throughout the State and world. Additionally\, the Chamber has set aside time for guests to attend either the House or Senate Session along with providing some time for individual lobbying. \n\n The cost for the entire day is only $25 which includes breakfast\, lunch and travel.
