Disparities in Health and Health Care: How to Advocate and Work Towards Solutions
Health inequities are differences in health status or in the distribution of health resources between different population groups, arising from the social condition in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age. We know these exist in our communities but what are some of the solutions, how can we work towards them, and how can we advocate for ourselves?
Join us for our Power Inclusion for a panel of health experts as they discuss ways we can work towards health equity. Speakers include:
Dr. Wanda Boone, Founder and. CEO, Together for Resilient Youth (moderator)
Dr. John Purakal, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Duke University School of Medicine (panelist)
Dr. Vynedra A. Smith, MD FACP, Genentech, Medical Affairs Executive Director for North and South Carolina
