2011 SBC Executive Lunch Series - YMCA of the Triangle

Join us for the May SBC Executive Lunch Series as we hear from YMCA of the Triangle's Executive Director Bryan Huffman and the YMCA's COO Tim Joyce.

About Tim “TJ” Joyce: 

TJ has literally spent his entire life with the YMCA of the Triangle, beginning as a difficult camper after school as a 7 year old at the Y in Downtown Raleigh.  Because of caring role models at the Y, TJ turned his young life around.  He began his employment as a 16 year old lifeguard and youth summer day camp counselor.  He then found his calling as an 18 year old working at Camp Sea Gull, a Y resident camp for boys on the coast of North Carolina.  He spent the next 17 summers in resident camp work.  He has spent the past 26 years in professional roles with the Y, from resident camp to youth development to branch management to senior Association management.  His current responsibilities include running the business of the Y, guiding growth and expansion and overseeing IT, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing, Risk Management, Human Resources and Facility Management for the YMCA of the Triangle.  TJ is a native of Raleigh.  He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is married to Diane for 30 years and has three successful young adult sons.  He is the poster child for the power and impact the Y can have in the life of a child, teen and young adult.

The SBC Executive Lunch Series provides small business members the opportunity to meet and network with area c-level executive and to learn more about their career path. Each session is held at the speaker's place of business.
