History, restoration, and a new chapter are coming together for a very special celebration in Durham!

Join the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce for the Ribbon Cutting Celebration of the beautifully renovated O’Kelly Chapel at For Garden’s Sake.

October 16 carries special historical significance, marking 200 years since the death of James O’Kelly, the influential minister and religious leader for whom O’Kelly Chapel is named. This celebration will honor that history while officially welcoming a new chapter for this treasured space.

Nestled on the grounds of For Garden’s Sake, O’Kelly Chapel is a historic early 1900s chapel filled with character and charm. For Garden’s Sake has thoughtfully renovated and restored the chapel, helping preserve an important piece of local history while transforming it into a beautiful event venue available for weddings, ceremonies, celebrations, private gatherings, and other special occasions.

For Garden’s Sake has served the Durham and Triangle community since 1999, offering a destination garden center along with landscaping, design, installation, maintenance, and outdoor services. Their involvement in restoring O’Kelly Chapel is another example of creating spaces where history, nature, community, and celebration can come together.

Guests will have the opportunity to:
