Chamber U - Must-Have Math Tools for non-Math Business Owners
You run a business but you don’t do math? Uh-oh. Profit’s a-leaking.
Running a business is hard enough, but running a business without a decent set of math tools is like driving a car without a speedometer and a gas gauge. You can do it, but trouble is always around the corner, and you won’t travel nearly as well.
Must-Have Math is the workshop for YOU if you’re NOT A MATH WHIZ but you still run a business (or part of one) that needs you to (a) SELL things, (b) PRICE things, (c) MAKE things, and/or (d) PAY for things like salaries, office space, or anything else that costs money.
In this workshop, you will learn a Baker’s Dozen of math tools to help you boost profits and reduce stress. We’ll apply math tools like Expected Value to business tools like the Sales Funnel. Most of the math tools won’t require much more than multiplication and division. Some will require a tiny bit of algebra. (Please — no fainting. Totally unnecessary.). We will look at REAL LIFE applications like pricing, PROFIT margins, interest on accounts receivable and accounts payable, employee productivity, return on investment, etc.
You will NOT have to go to the board and solve problems in front of the classroom. You will NOT have to exchange tests with the person sitting next to you for grading. You will NOT get sent to the principal’s office for chewing gum.
You WILL get more comfortable with some if not all of the tools we employ, and SOME will be ENOUGH to start making your life a little better. We will work with real-life examples from the instructor’s consulting experience, along with questions and examples from your own businesses.
